Sponsor

Isleta is free. It is going to stay free.

No paid tier, no trial, no account. If it has earned its place in your notch, there are two ways to send something — and neither unlocks anything, because nothing is locked.

Where it goes

There is no runway. There is a list.

Small enough to write out, which is the point of writing it out.

Signing and notarising
Every release is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarised by Apple. That programme is a yearly fee — the one cost that exists whether or not anything ships.
Hardware to be wrong on
Almost everything in the app’s documentation was measured rather than reasoned about. Most of the awkward findings needed a second Mac, another display arrangement, or headphones that report their battery differently.
Evenings
The only honest line on the list. It turns “I should fix that” into a notarised build the same week, and it is what this project runs out of first.

Not servers — there are none. No account system, no backend, no analytics to host. The two requests Isleta makes go to Apple and to GitHub, and neither bills me for it.

Worth more

Three things that cost nothing and help more

This is not modesty. A bug report that can be reproduced is the scarcest thing a one-person project receives, and the only item on either list that makes the app better for everybody who already has it.

Hardware quirks especially. Those cannot be found from here.

Report something you can reproduce
Settings ▸ About ▸ Export Logs… writes one file with everything needed. Events only — no track titles, no file names, no calendar events, no city.

Star the repository
It is the cheapest signal there is, and on GitHub it is most of how anything is found at all.

Tell somebody with a notch
There is no advertising budget and there is not going to be one. Word of mouth is the entire distribution strategy.

What sponsoring does not get you

It is a thank-you, and it is treated as one.

  • No features — there are none to withhold
  • No support queue. Everything happens on GitHub in the open, where the answer stays readable to whoever hits the same thing next
  • No say over what gets built. An idea argued well in a discussion moves things; an idea attached to a payment should not

If that is not what you wanted, the licence already gives you more than any tier could.
